InterProfessional Training Prevention
For VIVEL, 2023 was the year of the development of many collaborations around prevention, 2024 is the year of implementation!
Pilot projects InterProfessional Training
VIVEL is working closely with the Flemish Institute for Healthy Living, the Diabetes League and the Flemish Logos to introduce a blended training programme. The aim of this free training programme is to inform and sensitize as many people as possible about the prevention methods HALT2Diabetes & Exercise on Referral.
It includes an accessible e-learning for everyone (you can sign up for free if you don't have a profile yet), as well as a physical interprofessional training in motivational interviewing, linked to a follow-up moment. This approach aims for sustainable and careful implementation on the ground.
5 Pilot regions
Out of the 16 enthusiastic applications we received, five first-line zones were selected in which we aimed for representativeness in terms of provinces, urban/rural, number of referrals, experience with the methodologies:
- ELZ Amalo
- ELZ Ghent
- ELZ East Coast
- ELZ ZOLim
- ELZ Pallieterland
The candidates are listed in no particular order. The projects are now being further developed with them. This interprofessional training is open to care and welfare professionals within the primary care zone, with a focus on a diverse mix of primary care and welfare providers. A maximum of 25 participants are allowed per training, and we provide access to the e-learning, the interprofessional workshop and a follow-up moment afterwards.
An evaluation will take place after the pilot phase in June, after which we will investigate the possibilities for a wider roll-out.
Factsheets – informing with impact
In addition to the e-learning, digital fact sheets will also be available for all healthcare and welfare professionals. The aim is to create support among various professional groups: for each professional group, it is emphasized why the prevention methods Exercise on Referral and HALT2Diabetes are important and what the relevance is for them.
E-learning 'Under 4 eyes' is coming soon
In collaboration with Sensoa, VIVEL is working on the implementation of the e-learning "Under 4 Eyes", aimed at making sexual health a topic of discussion. A sounding board group was set up with representation from various professional groups from the broad primary care sector. The sounding board is currently testing the developed e-learning. We aim to open this e-learning to the end users by the end of April.
